pebble dash the litter bins
and paint the school bright green
this time is the sunniest

hang far behind
me like a rusting chain
so now I dwell
on if fortune tells

he scribbles, writes and thinks aloud
scratching words from passing clouds
and seeking in them joy and pain
to place in coupled rhymed refrains
a pleasant sounding happenstance
the walzing lyrical circumstance
which paint a portrait of his day
to hang in fancied galleries.

coupled with the new sunlight

who existed in days way back whence
he just would’ve starved

The world needs far more Wilfreds
Rudyards and Edwins too
there’s too many people called Toby
and not enough named Basil or Hugh.

Churchyard Troubadour

no one cared to pay the piper
for his song above the tomb
his reward is at the lychgate
where he serenades the moon
and waits his turn in patience
for the call to his encore
by playing melancholic songs
tonight and evermore

Vines

I draw my kiss
across her painted shoulders
vines entwined
and with my touch
growing ever bolder
these branches
may bring forth fruit
to mix a heady wine.
