which memories hold true
fair weathered ones or foul
one wishes for the light
but darkness through them falls
like rain in the midwinter
hang heavy hidden thoughts
of those failings spent upon
that what was
and that what ought.

This Town (prose)
he skipped across clouds
lined not in silver
but the rust of the ages
which rained down as snow
on the city below
and coated it’s streets
once paved in gold
with blood.
5-7-5 (take two-hundred-and-sixty-nine : in vino veritas)
the wine is breathing
and in pouring lets out sighs
a bouquet of tears
Pies in the skies (one minute nonsense)
the dentured lord above the skies
had his charge bake apple pies
but not of apples
each was filled with beef
and though a vegetarian
he gladly sampled everyone
and on the last one
went and cracked his teeth
The Bashful Boy (unfinished)
the poet took his pen in hand
and let the ghosts sing songs
of beauty lost in mystic lands
the dreams of lovers wronged
in vistas painted by the dead
of history’s cruel breath,
a sainted soul, a light crowned head,
the kiss held cold in death
Dancer
his dance began
without moving
his eyes closed
fixed upon feet
held frozen
only his breath
breaks through
the deafening silence
which surrounded him
waiting for the first notes
to explode.
Luv Pome (unfinished)
I want to be that certain quirk
you aren’t afraid of showing
that naughty little secret
you don’t mind people knowing
the head shaking embarrassment
which makes you blush bright red
the silly rather risque joke
you can’t believe you said.
Footfalls : A Short Fiction As Prose
on the path
lay yesterday’s snowfall
and upon which
like a chart
to unknown shores
her footsteps remained
even though
she was gone
5-7-5 (take two-hundred-and-sixty-eight : lighthouse)
beyond the lighthouse
where only the bold dare sail
there is safe harbour
A dream, if not of heaven, then what?
I stood upon a pier
no waves below but clouds
in form and hue
my mortal senses could not conceive
but which I watched ebb and flow
between boards worn bare
by countless feet
walking toward eternity.
