midnight is scattered
to a million shards of light
louder than the dawn

Older Poems #17 : CUM MORTIUS IN LINGUA MORTUA
in dreams
I speak in tongues
guided not
by mania
nor incomprehensible
supernatural
forces,
the words
come from within
are already
perfectly formed
and understood
completely
by those
who have
travelled to my dreams
before me
and made themselves
at home
Shells
war has broken out
between this year and the next
I remain neutral
The Alone (Three Haiku)
I sense this Alone
it is the noise of static
that murders silence
I feel the Alone
unforgiving memories
that breed in the dark
I know an Alone
deeper than depths of midnight
in the noise of dawn
A Last Morning
for now I’ll write of morning’s wind
mists breathing in the boughs
waking as it deigns
the world from slumber
‘fore even does the sun arouse.
each treetop shakes a yawn asunder
to stretch its fingers high
as into day,
the woods aliven
greeting dawn that paints the sky.
A Broken Mirror in Zaragoza
Moorish ghosts weep behind the glass
bound in the ancient reflections
abandoned by their suitors
a thousand years passed.
Snuff Out The Light
snuff out the light
let darkness drip
warm upon your skin
and stifle thoughts of day
for this night is ours
and in it come
our red dreams
out to play
Bouquet
delicate petals
enticing the hummingbird
to kiss them gently
An Aphorism of the Gods
Aphrodite will man’s wits expel
and Bacchus will all truths compel
but they who drink of Cupid’s vine
are forever damned to forming rhyme
A Ballad Begins
close thine eyes of heather’d bliss
and sleep ’til springtime’s green
let night seduce you with his kiss
and cast the darkness out with dreams
unfinished
