we witness angels
as reflections of ourselves
in shattered mirrors
Month: April 2022
Orchards
these orchards green are bless-ed things
to be so jewelled in the spring
rubies dripping from the trees
inspire caresses of the bees
and with their gentle kisses tend
the petals that to them wend
submission to the passioned wings
bestowing to bees, bless-ed things
As Gods
have us speak of miracles
heaven’s whispers to the earth
reminders which the gods must tell
that we mortal souls have worth
beyond just pure devotion
is our flesh here to give
thus as deity’s invention
we are as gods to live.
Lips
a mind unsettled
longing for Arcadia
on her gentle lips
Alluvium
green iridescence
washed down from timeless mountains
to paint us Eden
Della Valle
what noble despair
inspired such quest for beauty
in lands lost to time
Mist
we were as the mist
when it revealed a morning
hidden in our dreams
Finale
the final words I shall bequest
will not be ones of sadness
nor will they bear regret
no eulogy on loss nor pain
those shall not be my last refrain
let the sorrowful forget…
…me
and I shall pen a last hurrah!
a toast to all both near and far
with gratitude hung on each line
for each had place within this time
of light before the dark, now due
thus with a smile I bid adieu.
Tomorrow’s Flowers
what is tomorrow
save the turn yet taken
on a path unfamiliar
in fragrant gardens known
there are flowers there
like those of yesterday,
and many may be similar
but some, yes some
are of a totally different hue.
Pyre
butterflies of flame
red and gold against the night
flying from the coals
