Primitive Dreams

There’s a little blue gorilla in the corner
reminding me that I am still asleep
when he tapped me on the head
I fell right out of bed
and landed in the jungle all a heap

Beside me sat a clever little monkey
I knew this cause he wore a fancy hat
he looked just like a lord
in his cape and mortarboard
and he woke me with a simple finger snap.
