this scarlet whisper,
eyes afire with lust,
hypnotises my flesh
with a voice unheard
yet unable to resist
which takes hold of my heart
and steels my passion,
to be driven deep
at her command.
these lines betray ceremony a composition’s liturgy which determines if these words are ever to be heard or if the page in time will burn discarded but should they form the poetry of those emotions known to me then the rite of how I write will find its rhyme and remain unto the world regarded.
in velvet did I dare to dream
of the silken warmth it spelled
and submitted willingly
to the little death it held
for me beyond the passioned kiss
the slumbered reveries promised
