they came here just to dance
for lust or death or sacrifice
it mattered not, each paid a price
lost to the madman’s trance
the rhythm stoked the flames
spiritwalking into fires
each one a tongue to sate desires
no respite could e’er tame.
And still they came to dance
muscles, sinews locked to be
entwined, and held so desperately
in passion’s relentless glance
and in their glance’s dance’s play
they earned all for which they must pay
