Clear Skies

I let the stars speak to me
not in cryptic platitudes
nor trite generality
but as the forebears
who in days before time
had set us on our journey
with such shining expectation,
And in these clearest skies
silent as eternity
in unheard songs
of such sweet clarity
they sometimes scold
and oft direct my failings
but mostly they just weep.
